Glasgow wins bid for 2015 Gymnastics World Championships

Glasgow has won the right to host the 2015 Gymnastics World Championships, after a bid heavily featuring Daniel Keatings.

In this week's blog Daniel writes about what it means for his nation to host both these championships, and the Commonwealth Games, in consecutive years in the run-up to the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro.

Preparing for the Japan Cup

Daniel Keatings has been chosen to represent Great Britain in the invitation-only Japan Cup, in Tokyo.

He's working on brand new routines and will see the competition as further evidence of his return to fitness.

Success at the Glasgow World Cup

Daniel Keatings was boosted by a successful return to major competition, putting in a solid all-around performance at the Glasgow World Cup.

Daniel was in the lineup for the event thanks to a wildcard entry alongside the top 8 performers from last year's World Championships.

The Glasgow Gymnastics World Cup

Daniel Keatings is making his return to international competition at the Glasgow Gymnastics World Cup, after a year out through injury and missing the 2010 World Championships, the 2010 Commonwealth Games and the 2011 European Championships last week.

Team GB departs for Berlin

Daniel Keatings has received the disappointing news that he won't be in this year's British team at the Berlin European Championships.

But Daniel is still optimistic, and ahead of the recovery targets he set himself after his operation on his cruciate ligament last year.

Points progress at London Men's Open

Daniel's second competition since returning from injury was the London Men's Open in Dagenham.

Whilst not having the smoothest run in the competition, Daniel earned a higher points total than in last month's Scottish Championships.

He's now training in Lilleshall to see if he has made the team for the European Championships, to build on his European Championship silver from last year

Daniel Keatings returns to competition after injury

European Champion gymnast Daniel Keatings, 21, completed his first competition in 11 months last week. Daniel won a silver medal in the all-around event at the Scottish Championships, in Perth.

He has been recovering from an injury to his cruciate ligament which he sustained back in April 2010.
